Superyachts, Models & the Infinity Pool Porto Montenegro Case Study
New ISPE member Sean Connelly of Aquascapes Ltd had his engineering skills put to the test when advising on the construction of a new 215ft infinity pool as part of a £518 million new marina resort in the millionaire's playground of Porto Montenegro.
The pool is built over what was once a submarine dry dock and suspended out over the Adriatic Sea. Initially as part of a British led design team reporting to Mace construction as the main contractor, we liaised with architects to make sure the aesthetic look they were trying to achieve blended seamlessly with the technical functionality required to run a pool of this nature.
We supplied the technical drawings required to install the filtration & plant aswell as the calculations needed for the heating and chemical dosing
Our involvement developed into a project management role as this became a fast track project due to one of the main investors Nathan Rothschild choosing the launch of the venue to coincide with his 40th Birthday Party.
2500 on site workers pulled out all the stops to meet the deadline and if you check out the reports of the event on The Daily Telegraph website it will give an idea of the scale of this project.
With the varied environments of holiday parks, hotels, council facilities etc that we have predominantly worked in over the last 7 years our experience lent itself perfectly to this audacious project.
Sean is available on a consultancy basis for any pool construction project large or small. He specialises and enjoys the challenge of installing pools into varied environments.
